Parts Therapy

We all have various parts to our personality and all of these parts have our best intentions in mind.

Unfortunately, sometimes these parts have different priorities, which can lead to inner conflict.

These parts, or states, are very normal and enhance our day to day living by being able to draw on the part that is most relevant for any given situation.

Some examples of our various parts/states that become ‘executive’ throughout the day/week:

-       The workplace part/state. Serious and professional

-       The relationship part/state. Caring, understanding

-       The fun part/state. Where we let the inner child come out and play

-       The protector part/state. This can be made ‘executive’ when we or our loved ones are at risk of a something we are perceiving as a threat.

The inner conflict between parts/states can come when two or more do not agree on the best path forward. Some examples:

-       Wanting to quit smoking but do not want to look like you have listened to others advice or worrying what your smoking friends might think.

-       Wanting to diet but scared of what others might think if the diet fails.

-       Wanting to treat yourself to a new car but cannot stand the thought of parting with the money.

Parts Therapy in hypnosis allows therapy to progress quickly since the individual state that can benefit most is brought out (made executive) and empowered or given a change of role.

Parts Therapy is an enormously powerful 'tool' that can really create an understanding of yourself as a person.

Parts Therapy is not required for all issues but can be used if the various parts of the client is causing inner conflict.
